2006 FACULTY RESEARCH
ENHANCEMENT AWARDS |
The Office for Access
to Biomedical Research (ABR) is pleased to sponsor the fifth
year of a faculty research support program, the Faculty
Research Enhancement Awards (FREA).
The goal of the FREA program is to enhance faculty research
capability and competitiveness in basic and applied biomedical
science by providing small seed grants in support of pilot
research projects.
The program will
distribute, on a competitive basis, mini-grants (up to $5,000
each) to eligible faculty. Funding for the program is provided
by a grant from the National Institutes of Health (EARDA
program) and administered through FIU’s Access to Biomedical
Research (ABR) Office (HLS II 392/395). Approximately $35,000 is
available to support pilot projects in the biomedical and
health- related sciences. Description of the FREA program,
criteria for awards and guidelines for submission of
applications are available through the links provided.
