OUR MISSION
The FIU Accounting Association provides unity among the accounting, finance and MIS, students at FIU. We work to enhance our members' leadership, credibility, and ethics, which are vital to the accounting profession. We also strive to provide the foundation of professionalism deemed necessary in order to soothe the transition of our members from students to professionals. With our affiliations with the Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), we now offer students the opportunity of being part of the ALPFA Honor Society.
  • The FIU Accounting Association is one of the oldest organizations on campus and is greatly admired and recognized within the university and the community.
  • It is the ONLY student chapter in Miami for ALPFA. The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance & Accounting (ALPFA) is a national organization known for the myriad of professional opportunities that it provides to its professional and student members. It is NOT exclusive to Latinos.

Accounting Association activities held during the semester include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Weekly Friday meetings with interested employers and local firms as well as Fortune 500 companies
  • Business Industry Night
  • ALPFA/KPMG Case Competition
  • Johnson & Johnson Case Competition
  • PricewaterhouseCoopers Case Competition
  • Mock Interviews
  • Finance Conference
  • ALPFA National Convention held in Phoenix, Arizona this August 2008
  • Volleyball Tournament
  • Internal Networking
  • Community Service such as Relay for Life, VITA, and much more.
  • Semester Banquet
  • Scholarships which are based on your activity in the organization. GPA is not a factor in winning the award!
  • Social events held throughout the semester
