Donor Relations

The concept of stewardship can be traced back to the middle ages, the steward charged with the responsibility of protecting the estate of the owner. With respect to Florida International University , stewardship is the process whereby FIU cares for and protects its philanthropic support in a way that responds to the donor's expectations and wishes.

With donor stewardship as its primary focus, the office of Donor Relations fosters lasting relationships between FIU and those who support the institution through thoughtful and timely acknowledgement and recognition of their philanthropic gifts. The office of Donor Relations is entrusted to report in a consistent and accurate manner the use and impact of donor contributions, ensuring proper accountability and adherence to the Donor Bill of Rights.
