Barbara joined the Media Relations team the day after she received her bachelor's in Journalism and Mass Communication from FIU. She has interned with several local television stations and enjoys working with that media. Barbara has been instrumental in securing coverage for many FIU events that have received ample media attention in the last few years.
Media Relations serves as a central component of the FIU Emergency Communications Plan. In the event of an emergency-anything from an approaching storm to a terrorist threat-information will flow through Media Relations and out to the FIU home page, the voice mail system, campus media and commercial print and broadcast outlets.
