Your expert opinion

The Office also serves as a broker between the faculty with their vast reservoir of expertise and journalists, often in need of an impartial authoritative voice to lend depth and credibility to their stories. To aid in the daily effort to put faculty and reporters together, Media Relations has launched its web-based sourcebook, a database of hundreds of FIU experts who have self-identified as being open to calls from journalists. The database is constantly being updated and welcomes new additions anytime. You may visit the search page or add your own academic profile by visiting www.news.fiu.edu

In case of an emergency

Media Relations serves as a central component of the FIU Emergency Communications Plan. In the event of an emergency-anything from an approaching storm to a terrorist threat-information will flow through Media Relations and out to the FIU home page, the voice mail system, campus media and commercial print and broadcast outlets. For information about an emergency, dial 305-FIU-HELP anytime.
