In order to assist the Development Team in their fundraising efforts, the Department of Advancement Operations and Information Systems (AO & IS) would like take this opportunity to provide the following information concerning State Matches for endowments and Facilities State Matches for building projects.
The Major Gifts Program provides matching funds for endowment gifts over $100,000 for academic purposes from a single donor. The rate of match depends of the size of the gift (see table below):

The Capital Facilities Matching Program provides 100% matching funds for specific construction and renovation projects. Private gifts must constitute 50% of the project.
“Bundled” gifts are defined as gifts from multiple donors to a single fund. These gifts cannot exceed $500,000, and will qualify for a 50% match.
The State of Florida offers a significant incentive for gifts to its state universities - it will match your gift with additional state dollars. These programs epitomize the best of public-private partnerships. For example, under provisions of Florida's Major Gifts Trust Fund , your endowment gift of $100,000 for education, research or library or art acquisitions, fellowshops, etc. is eligible for a match from the state of 50 percent - another $50,000 in this case.
And, the match rate escalates as your gift level increases. A $2 million endowment receives a 100 percent or $2 million match. The following table is an excerpt from our State Matching Gift Programs Fact Sheet .
