FIU Advanced Mass Spectrometry Facility

The Advanced Mass Spectrometry Facility (AMSF/Pictures) is located in the premises of the Chemistry Department at Florida International University, University Park, CP Building, Room 178, Miami, Florida 33199. The AMSF is a University Wide Facility and is managed by the Director and reporting to the chairman of the department.  The facility's charter is to provide analytical support to the FIU scientific and research community. The facility is envisaged to be used particularly heavily for funded research activities by faculty and students from the Chemistry Department as well as others within FIU. Analytical services are available on a contractual basis. The facility is presently equipped with an ICP/MS (Hewlett-Packard 4500 Plus) with a Cetac LSX-200 laser ablation system, a GC/MS (Hewlett Packard 5973 MSD) with both headspace and a pyroprobe sample introduction systems, and an LC/PDA/ MS (Finnigan Navigator). All three instruments are equipped with autosampler capabilities for batch analysis.
