Message 14: From Suzie Siegel (suziesiegel@tampabay.rr.com)

Earth Charter USA Communities Initiatives and the Tampa Museum of Science & Industry are proud to host a reception to present the Earth Charter Exhibit on Friday, February 25 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at MOSI. $3 The exhibit was designed by SGI International and Earth Charter International and is composed of fourteen 6’ by 3” panels that has been viewed by over 20,000 people on its travels around the globe. It was featured at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa. The colorful photos highlight accomplishments of the Earth Charter including the work of Kenya’s Earth Charter Commissioner and 2004 Nobel Peace Prize Winner, Wangari Maathai. While strolling through the exhibit sipping wine and grazing on delicious appetizers from Mise en Place restaurant, guests will also enjoy jazz by Phil Provenzano & The Jazz Xperience, which has performed in local venues for the past 15 years including: The Jazz Cellar, King Corona in Ybor City and host band for the Clearwater Jazz Holiday. A special performance by Darren Liebman of the Didj Revolution will bring to life sounds from “Down Under.”

Feb 1 posting:
Not sure when others' messages posted, but I will update if my info changes. I am a 4th-yr doctoral student in Michigan hoping to find and share accommodations for 24th, 25th, 26th. Am nonsmoking. Willing to sleep on floor or just about anything! Am considering looking at other random hotels online. Please email eyaelingh@emich.edu

Message 9: From Sandy Oestreich (O'STRIKE) (RatifyERA@cs.com)

EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW SHALL NOT BE DENIED OR ABRIDGED BY THE UNITED STATES OR BY ANY STATE ON ACCOUNT OF SEX. A US Constitutional amendment that would add full equality for men and women! IMAGINE THAT!

No, the ERA did not pass by 1982. Yes, it is still "viable and contemporaneous" according to our Constitutional lawyers! Only 3 more states may be needed to ratify the ERA and insert it in the Constitution. ERA Inc is spearheading ERA in Florida; we have 2 bills in FL legislature. Currently, the only incontestable right women have there is the right to vote. We are still referred to as possessions of men!

STOP BY OUR ERA TABLE AT THE AWP CONFERENCE TO LEARN MORE AND SIGN OUR PETITION TO LEGISLATORS, GET A NEW ERA BUTTON AND OUR ERA FACTSHEET!

Cheers! Sandy Oestreich, founder/pres., ERA Inc, Prof. Emerita, formerly Adelphi U., NY; Fmr. elected official; Nurse Practitioner; Author, pharmacology ref. texts; Advisory Board member of USF Womens Studies Department www.RatifyERAflorida.net

I already have a non-smoking room reserved at the Wyndham from the 24th until the 28th, though I'll be leaving on Sunday. Happy to share. I'm from Oregon. Email me at sandylou29@yahoo.com

Message 7: From Ronni Greenwood (rgreenwood@gc.cuny.edu)

Is anyone interested in sharing a room on Feb. 24, 25 & 26? I'm a non-smoker and easy to bunk with. This price is a bit high for me, and I would very much like to split the costs with at least 1 other person.

Message 6: From Sorah Dubitsky (dubitsky@fiu.edu)
