David Iwaniec (Major Advisor: Dan Childers) will defend his Master’s
Thesis entitled “Regulation and organization of peripyton
from the Florida Everglades, U.S.A.” on 26 June 2008 at 3:00
pm in WC 130.
Clayton Williams (Major Advisor: Frank Jochem) will defend his
Doctoral Dissertation entitled “Relative significance of pelagic,
benthic, and allochthonous organic matter to microbial carbon cycling
in a phosphorus-depleted subtropical estuary (Florida Bay)”
on 27 June 2008 at 1:00 pm in HLSII-190.
Kristen Kuehl (Major Advisor: Laurie Richardson) received a Samuel
Riker Fellowship offered by the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences
to support her research this summer. Congratulations Kristen!
Rudolf von May (Major Advisor: Maureen Donnelly) received a University
Dissertation Year Fellowship to support him during the 2008-09 academic

Rudolf von May (Major Advisor: Maureen Donnelly) presented a co-authored
oral paper at the annual meeting of the Association for Tropical
Biology and Conservation held in Paramaribo, Suriname, 9-13 June
2008: von May, R., J.M. Jacobs, and M.A. Donnelly. Patterns of amphibian
diversity across forest types in four Amazonian sites in southeastern
Peru.
Julissa Roncal (Major Advisor: David Lee) recently published a
