Our project is working toward:

Using the social capital of grassroots organizations to improve traditional forms of ecosystem management.
Integrating conservation and development to benefit local people and the environment.
Investigating government policy and its influence on land use decision making.

CTEM is directed by Dr. David Barton Bray, Chair and Associate Professor, Department of Environmental Studies, Florida International University (FIU) in collaboration with other researchers and institutions in Mexico and the United States.
