About the course. Vertebrate Morphology Laboratory (ZOO 4377L) replaces ZOO 2713C as the upper division lab course in comparative vertebrate anatomy. The lab augments material taught in the lecture component (Vertebrate Morphology - ZOO 4377) and involves the dissection and analysis of the major vertebrate organs systems using representative species.

Supplies:
   1.  text:  Walker, WF and DG Homberger, Vertebrate Dissection, 8th ed.
2.lab clothes (lab coats or scrubs available in book store or any old shirt; sharks are greasy!)
3.dissection tools (kits available in bookstore; 1 set per working pair)
4.disposable gloves, as tight-fitting as comfortable (available in bookstore)
5.optional:  lab notebook and color pencils
6.optional:  Hand lens (e.g., pocket magnifier, jeweler's loop)

Attendance: 33%          A    =  90-100%
Handouts*: 33%B+  =   87-89%
Quizzes**: 33%B    =   80-86%
C+  =   77-79%
C    =   70-76%
D+  =   67-69%
D    =   60-66%
F    =   0-59%%
*Completed handouts will be graded Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory; unsatisfactory reports may be revised and re-submitted once.
**Quizzes will be given weekly starting the third week

Make-up examinations:  No make-up examinations will be given.

College of Arts and Sciences Policy on Incompletes:  In order to obtain an incomplete grade the majority of the work in the course must be completed; this means that for this course 7 of the 10 quizzes must have been taken. In order to obtain an incomplete, an Assignment of Incomplete Grade Form must be filled out with the instructor prior to the end of the semester. Work to complete the grade must be done within 30 days of the end of the semester otherwise a grade computed from completed work will be submitted.
