Textbook: Gerald Karp. Cell and Molecular Biology. John Wiley. 2002.

The reading assignments indicated for each topic constitute the minimal requirement for readings from the textbook. In addition, for some of the topics the lectures will include a considerable amount of important material that supplements the coverage in the textbook . This will be indicated by an asterisk (*) following the topic's name. Students will be responsible for this material. Notes that cover this material may be available as hypertext links reachable by clicking on the blue lecture topic titles, or as handouts provided by the instructor.

The three tests, tentatively scheduled at appropriate intervals, will consist of different types of questions which will include multiple choice, short answer, numerical problems, etc. University rules regarding all forms of cheating will be strictly enforced.

This instructor abides by the University policy on religious holy days, and the schedule of classes and tests should reflect this fact. He will appreciate being told of any error made in this or any other respect.
