Fundraising: How Do I Raise Money?
Donor Drive: This website provides an easy format for online fundraising once you register as a dancer or morale assistant. This is a particularly good tool for dancers who wish to reach distant family and friends, and make it easy for them, or anyone, to donate conveniently by using their credit or debit card. All proceeds received from the DM registration website, DonorDrive, will be sent directly to the hospital and be credited to a dancer’s total. Need help registering? Contact us, dm@fiu.edu.
Canning: Every weekend several of us can be found on 107th Avenue collecting donations for Dance Marathon. This is an excellent opportunity to create awareness and collect the money needed to participate. Dancers can go “canning” at anytime on any street, as long as you let us know. We will provide you with the necessary materials for canning: a DM bucket, waiver, and a committee member to document your attendance and money. Spirit points are awarded for canning and double on assigned days!
Letter Writing Campaign: A letter has already been created which explains details everything someone needs to know about dance marathon. All you have to do is think of friends, family members and local businesses that we could mail the letter to for possible donations. All proceeds received will count toward your participant total.
Concession Stands: Local arenas offer us a chance to sell food at a concession stand before a show or sports game. For information on dates for fundraising, please contact us, dm@fiu.edu.
Sponsorships: Got a rich uncle? Does your family or friend own a business? Know of a company willing to donate to a charitable cause? They can help you fundraise for your total, too! DM can provide you with marketing packets to help you collect a corporate sponsorship, and in return, these sponsors will receive benefits as outlined in our sponsorship levels. To pick up a marketing packet, please visit us in GC 2210.
