Special Events

Golden Idol is FIU's first premier singing competition. Students from FIU audition during scheduled dates and times in the Graham Center Pit and are judged by faculty and staff members. Students with the top score and/or ratings move onto the finale. The finale takes place in the Graham Center Ballrooms. Contestants perform on stage and compete through a couple of rounds. The winner is named FIU's Golden Idol and performs at various university events and of course at Dance Marathon.

Mr. and Miss. DM is a male and female pageant. Mr. and Miss DM embody the values, traditions and love for FIU Dance Marathon. Contestants compete in several rounds: introduction, talent and costume. They are judged by widely recognized faculty, staff and FIU DM alumni.

So You Think You Can Dance is a dance competition with two levels of competition - high school and university. Students and members from the community compete to hold to title of FIU's favorite dancer!
