Regular Membership:

This is lifetime full membership in the Honor Society. Regular members may participate fully in the activities of the National Chapter and the Beta Beta Beta chapter. They may hold office, vote for officers, vote on National Chapter issues, represent the Beta Beta Beta chapter at district and national meetings, and wear the Tribeta honor medallion at the university commencement ceremonies. To be eligible for regular membership, a student must meet the following requirements:

  • An overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • A GPA in biology courses of 3.0 or greater
  • Willingness to participate in the activities of the Beta Beta Beta chapter

*All members will pay a one time fee of $20 for membership to the Beta Beta Beta local FIU chapter.

Regular members pay a one time due of $45, $65 including the one time local fee, payable to Beta Beta Beta. Regular members receive a certificate, membership card, decals, and a subscription to the Beta Beta Beta journal Bios.

Associate Membership:

Associate members are students who have an interest in biology, but who do not meet the criteria for regular membership. They may participate in the activities of the Beta Beta Beta chapter, but they may not hold office, vote for officers, vote on National Chapter issues, or wear the Beta Beta Beta honor medallion.

*All members will pay a one time fee of $20 for membership to the Beta Beta Beta local FIU chapter.

Associate members pay a one time due of $35.00, $55 including the one time local fee, payable to Beta Beta Beta. If an associate member later qualifies for regular membership, he or she may be promoted to regular membership after paying the $10.00 difference.
