Grades

updated 13 December 2003

Grades are listed by code numbers. Students received codes upon completion of assignment one . If you did not do assignment one and think you are one of the "no-codes" for exam 1, contact me as soon as possible.

Grades for exam one are posted by code. There are 4 scores in the file: the number of correct multiple choice answers, the corresponding multiple choice score, an essay score, and the total.

The last day to drop with a DR is 18 October 2003

Grades will be updated regularly during the semester.

You grades are based on a percentage of points: A = 90 to 100% , B = 80 to 89%, C = 70% to 79%, D = 60 to 69% and F < 60% of the points. You can figure your grades by summing the scores and figure out what percentage you have earned to date.

Congratulations to everyone. You did well as a group on the final (two folks got perfect scores) and the average was 74.

I followed the grading scheme described above with some modifications. The grade distribution is: 400-360: A; 358 = A-; 357-320 = B; 319 - 270 = C; 269 - 215 = D; < 214 = F.

The writing assignment was important for 20% of students that turned it in (they got one letter grade higher with the writing assignment).

Have happy holidays and a great spring term. Dr. D.
