DESCRIPTION: The Math Contest is an activity of the “Math Circle at FIU” designed for students in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. It is a mathematical competition in the form of “take home exam” consisting of problems related, but not confined, to the topics discussed at the Math Circle. The solutions presented by the contestants have to be  essay type. Some problems might be difficult. This contest will be year-round with three sets of problems covering respectively Geometry, High School Algebra, and miscellaneous topics (number theory, combinatorics).



RULES:  The competition is individual and is open to all high school students in Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Every participant is asked to return solutions to all or some of the problems in each set before the indicated deadline.  We also ask participants to include some evidence (a copy of school record, for instance) showing that they are students in Miami-Dade or Broward schools.
