The Biosafety Program supports the University’s research and academic mission by developing and maintaining programs that prevent, reduce and control the potential for unhealthful exposures to biological materials and infectious agents. Program responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Education and awareness initiatives that support “biosafety best practices”; Coordination and consultation services for the University community on the proper procedures to acquire, receive, transport, store, use and dispose of biological agents, toxins and specimens; and Compliance with regulations on the safe use of biological agents, toxins and animals.
