Tonette S. Rocco, Ph.D.

Dr. Rocco completed four degrees from The Ohio State University - a
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Masters of Labor and Human
Resources, a Master of Arts in Education and a Ph.D. in Adult Education and
Human Resource Development. Her minor areas were rehabilitation services and
qualitative research. She is Editor, New Horizons in Adult Education and
Human Resource Development (NHAE/HRD), the Qualitative Methods Editor for the Human
Resource Development Quarterly, on the editorial boards for Human Resource
Development International and the Journal of Mixed Methods Research. She is
chair of the College of Education Research Conference (COERC), and facilitates the
Writing, Research, and Publication Discussion Group monthly. Her research
interests include sexual minorities, disability studies, privilege, critical
race theory, older workers, equity and access, qualitative and mixed
methods.

Reio, Thomas G., Jr., Ph.D.

Dr. Reio completed both his doctoral degree and certificate of advanced
graduate studies in Adult and Continuing Education at Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University, a Masters of Business
Administration at Averett University, and a Bachelors degree in
Horticulture at the University of Maryland, College Park. His minor was
in Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics. He was runner-up for the
first Malcolm S. Knowles Dissertation-of-the-Year Award. He is on the
Editorial Board of five scholarly journals, including Advances in
Developing Human Resources, the International Journal of Self-Directed
Learning, and Contemporary Educational Psychology. His research and
teaching is informed by 16 years of experience in the for-profit service
industry, serving in positions ranging from branch manager to training
director to operations manager. In particular, he has extensive
experience as a turn-around specialist. He has published or has in press
a number of journal articles, book chapters, book reviews, and technical
reports. He is co-editor of the upcoming Handbook of Research in Adult
Development and Learning. His research interests include learning
motivation-cognitive and sensory curiosity, risk-taking,
entrepreneurship and innovation, workplace socialization, and
school-to-work transition.

Douglas H. Smith, Ph.D.

Dr. Smith completed the doctorate degree in adult education and management from The Ohio State University, a masters degree from Indiana University in Counseling, and a Bachelors degree in Psychology and History from Anderson University. He brings over thirty years of experience working with a wide variety of organizations and companies in the areas of organizational development, total quality management/continuous quality improvement, management development, career assessment, leadership, and future trends. Published, or has in press, three books on total quality, management, and human resource development, over 30 journal articles, reports and editorials, and numerous international and national presentations. |
