We ask you to help to save the life of Mr. Ramon Saul Sanchez, who happens to be a pre-diabetic, by e-mailing a note to President Clinton and Vice President Gore. Please ask for the immediate return of the boat to the "Movimiento Democracia". The e-mail for the President is president@whitehouse.gov and the Vice President's is vice.president@whitehouse.gov . Below is a copy of what we e-mailed to the President:
Dear Mr. President,
The president of "Movimiento Democracia", Mr. Ramon Saul Sanchez has been on a hunger strike for 20 days. He is protesting the illegal confiscation of the boat "Derechos Humanos" (Humans Right) by US Authorities. The small boat was boarded by the US Coast Guard while it was in route to Cuba with copies of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The confiscation was based on your executive order which is in violation of Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The life of Mr. Ramon Saul Sanchez, who happens to be a pre-diabetic, is solely in your hands. Please bring an end to this hunger strike and return the boat "Derechos Humanos" to the Movement "Democracia".
