The ultimate goal of the program is to increase the pool of Academically prepared students who become  admissible to FIU or any other university.

PIP tries to reach its goals by:
Assessing each student's interest, career goals, academic potential, and need for services.
Providing courses in basic skills to ensure success on College Board exams.
Providing advisement, workshops, and counseling on academic career goals.
Introducing students to the college environment.
Providing informational workshops and seminars that explain the matriculation process and introduce           college entrance and funding through scholarships and financial aid.

The Program is broken into two different and separate parts to fully enhance the student’s learning and  potential.

 (1) Part one (PIP I) concentrates on basic skills related to the SAT so that students will become familiar with  the exam and obtain a higher score.

 (2) Part two (PIP II) is where the fun really begins! During the second summer, PIP students are enrolled in  two college level courses and a college seminar. This course allow them to be on the college campus as a  college student, therefore providing them with the real university experience.
