Audiofication/Sonification of Celestial Data

Acoustic astronomy, also called "radio-computer music astronomy" allows astronomical data to be represented using  computer music procedures.

This research project was developed in 1987 as part of Dr. Fiorella Terenzi Doctoral Thesis in Physics at University of California, San Diego, Computer Audio Research Laboratory (CARL) and has demonstrated how electromagnetic  radiation coming from the galaxy UGC 6697 could be  translated into sound using a sound synthesis language.
