The
Earth Science Holiday Party December 15, 2007
The
combined efforts of the Alumni Association and the staff
and students from the Department of Earth Sciences resulted
in a nice get together for all with their families and
friends. Many thanks to Dr. Maurrasse's gracious hosting
of the event at his home, Barbara Maloney's decorating
persistence, Bonnie's piano playing, and all of those
involved who made this event such a nice evening combining
good company and food. The weather was fantastic and
it was a pleasure to see the coming together of staff,
alumni, and students, all enjoying the evening and relaxing
over the holiday break.

Dr
Ricardo Barragan Manzo (PhD 00) received tenure and was promoted to
Full Professor at the “Instituto de Geologia UNAM (Universidad Autonoma
de Mexico), in Mexico City. He has also been appointed for three years
as one of the three representatives from Mexico to the North American
Commission on Stratigraphic Nomenclature (NACSN).
Dr
Hillol Guha (PhD 00), moved to Connecticut and was promoted to Senior
Hydrogeologist/Modeler at Leggette, Brashears & Graham, Inc.

Both
Peter and Tiffany has moved to Houston, Texas,
where Peter works as a production geologist for Shell
International Exploration and Production Inc.,and
Tiffany as a geologist at the Core Lab.
Lizette is now a doctoral student at Rice University.
