Alumnus Carlos Molina (M.S., 2005) reports from Houston

Hello dear colleagues,

We hope this note finds everyone in the department in good health and enjoying a productive spring semester.

A week ago a group of FIU alumni from the Earth Sciences department had the chance to get together in Houston. The list of attendees was the

Sedelia Rodriguez Durand (Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory, New York)
Tiffany Horst (CoreLab Houston)
Peter Horst (Shell Houston)
David Velez (Shell Houston)
Carlos Molina (Shell Houston)
Fabian Duque (Chevron Houston)

Peter and Carlos had just returned from a 5-week initial training at Shell. David was telling us about his upcoming training trip to the Netherlands. Fabian is loving his position as a geo-analyst and is currently taking short-term training courses in California and Houston.

Tiffany is currently working for CoreLab here in Houston and Sedelia was in town for a conference where she presented a poster regarding Mars petrography data.

We all send our regards to all of you and do not hesitate to contact us if you are ever in town.

Where are you and what are you doing?

There are many FIU Geology alumni that we have lost track of and certainly many of you have new locations, new jobs, new events to report. Please let us know where you are and what you're doing by e-mail at geology@fiu.edu. We will post what you tell us here, as soon we have some news. Hope to hear from you soon!
