Abubakar Sadiq Abdullahi |
| Abubakar Sadiq Abdullahi is a doctoral student in
social studies education at Florida International University. Mr. Abdullahi is a teacher of American Government
at Homestead Senior High School in Miami, Florida. Born in Kaduna, Nigeria
in 1960, Abubakar was introduced to the game of tennis at the age of ten in
Lagos Nigeria. He was offered a tennis scholarship to study Economics at St.
Augustine's College, Raleigh, North Carolina. After graduation, Mr.
Abdullahi traveled all over the world as a touring professional player. He
was a member of the Nigerian Davis cup
team, and participated in the Seoul Olympics in 1988. As a teaching
professional in Miami, he worked closely with the tennis legend late Arthur Ashe.
Mr. Abdullahi believes that only
through global understanding and sensitivity to cultural and individual
differences can humanity come closer to attaining the lofty goal of regional
reconciliation and world peace.
