| Toni F. Kirkwood, Ed.D.
is Associate Professor of Social Studies Education,
College of Education, Florida Atlantic University. She received her
doctorate in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on global education
from Florida International University.
Dr. Kirkwood previously taught social studies at
Turner Technical Arts High School in Miami, and was one of four global
awareness coordinators for the
Miami-Dade County Public Schools.
Dr. Kirkwood has published extensively on teaching
social studies from a global perspective. Her most recent research focuses
on teaching about immigrant experiences, learning about Vietnam, and
German-American relations.
