Brief Description of the Program:

        The Master of Accounting degree program prepares students for a career in accounting. For those already pursuing such a career or who are seeking to change careers to one in accounting, the program offers excellent preparation as well. The program satisfies the 30 semester hours beyond a Bachelor’s degree required for the CPA examination.


        Depending on a student’s interests, he or she can prepare for a variety of careers:
  • Track Career : Accounting Information Systems Accounting systems consultant, auditor or officer in a business corporation or public accounting.
  • Accounting/Assurance : Independent accountant in the public accounting profession. Internal accountant or officer in a business corporation. Industry or Government internal auditor.

Application Requirements:

To be eligible for admission to a Master’s degree program in the College of Business Administration, students must:
  • Meet the general University requirements for admission to a graduate degree program.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Show high promise of success in graduate studies as determined by the faculty based upon a combination of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) score or Graduate Record Exam (GRE) and the upper-division grade point average (GPA).
  • Be in good standing with all previously-attended colleges and universities.


Additional Requirements for International Students:

  • If applicant is an international student whose native language is not English, he or she must have a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based TOEFL, 213 on the computer-based TOEFL, or an equivalent score on a comparable examination.
