Dr. Guillermo J. Grenier

Guillermo J. Grenier is the Director of the Florida Center for LaborResearch and Studies and Associate Professor of Sociology
at Florida International University, the Florida State University atMiami. Born in Havana, Cuba, Dr. Grenier received his
undergraduate education at Emory University and Georgia State Universityin Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Ph.D. from the
University of New Mexico.

He is the author of Inhuman Relations: Quality Circles and Anti-Unionism in American Industry  (Temple University Press,
1988). His other books include Employee Participation and LaborLaw in the American Workplace; Miami Now: Immigration,
Ethnicity and Social Change; Newcomers in the Workplace:Immigrants and the Restructuring of the U.S. Economy; and This
Land is Our Land: Newcomers and Established Residents in Miami(forthcoming). He has written numerous articles on labor
and ethnic issues in the United States and conducts yearly surveyson the attitudes of the Cuban-American community towards
