Short Journal Paper

Each student must select a theoretical article published during the past 15 years in the following journals (available in the Library): American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, and Social Problems. For the article selected, provide, succinctly and in order, the information below in no less than two (2) and no more than four (4) double-spaced typed pages: (Do not take this information from the abstract of the article.)
 

1. Short summary of what the article is about.

2. Is it a qualitative or quantitative study?

3. Is it primarily a theoretical or empirical study, or both?

4. What is the source of the data analyzed by the author(s) (e.g., survey, published statistics, etc.)?

5. What is the most important contribution of the study reported in the article?

6. Full bibliographic reference.
