FIU Herpetology Club: Minutes of March, 2005
2 March
Discussed Kim’s paper for evolution. Gave her insightful comments on how to completely restructure the paper.
Steven berated us all for not attending GSA meetings. We may have lost our rightfully-earned $ from last semester by not complaining early enough.
9 March
Mo introduced the idea behind the Big Cypress proposal James is writing. It will compare large and small tree islands in different matrices (pine rockland vs wet prairie). Field work could start in the coming summer or fall.
Talked about herp club finances – do we have any $? No word from GSA.
Events to plan for this semester: Mo’s talk, Nikki’s talk, and Cane Toads showing
16 March
1. Discussed Kristen’s first chapter, which was an absolute work of art.
22 March
1. Steven practiced his defense seminar, which contained ecological theories illustrated by colored lizards.
2. Planned upcoming events: film night (Kia) and herp club speaker (Steven).
30 March – no meeting
