The first thing we need to consider before getting to the Poll is demographic change in the community that has taken place since 1983. Half of all Cubans who have migrated from Cuba to Southeast Florida have done so after 1983.

This information comes from the 2007 American Community Survey (ACS). The ACS is replacing the long form for the 2010 Census and is an ongoing sample survey. ACS data used to make these two charts came from IPUMS-USA.
