PURPOSE OF THE
COURSE
This course is a
special
course designed for the nursing students. The course gives an overview
of the
foundations of inorganic chemistry including the periodic table and the
general
properties of the elements; organic chemistry includes naming of
functional
groups, their properties and reaction; and the study of biomolecules
such as
carbohydrates, lipids and proteins.
COURSE OUTLINE
Chapters will be
covered in
order. Outline for the semester will be as follows:. Exam dates are
given below
and are considered FINAL: The final grade will be based on the average
of three
non-cumulative exams and you have to take all the exams. No make-up
exams will
be given

Class
attendance is not mandatory but strongly recommended. There is a direct
correlation between class attendance and class performance. If you
choose to
come to class, you will be expected to behave properly. Disruptions and

and login as a student. Students must complete and submit them promptly
if you
would like to receive extra credit for the class. Quizzes will only be
available during specific limited times. Deadlines for the chapters
will be
announced as we move along, but all the material related to each exam
must be
completed before taking the exam to get any credits. You can attempt to
answer
the quizzes up to a maximum of three times. Once you access a quiz, it
must be
answered and submitted. This is an excellent way to practice for the
format and
style of exams that will be given.
EXAMS: PICTURE
ID IS REQUIRED TO TAKE THE EXAMS. Graphing calculators are not allowed
