PHY 5940 Physics Graduate Teaching
Workshop
Course Description
This workshop will help
you become an effective instructor in the introductory laboratories. The
workshop is operated as part of the Monday physics lab preparation sessions.
Credit is earned through participating in the prep sessions. These sessions
operate:

COURSE ORGANIZATION AND REQUIREMENTS
Attendance:
Attendance
is required at the lab prep sessions, as the material is learned interactively
in class, missed material will be very difficult to makeup (and you will not be
prepared for lab). If you are unable to attend due to illness, you MUST notify
us IN ADVANCE (except for emergency situations). Phone numbers and e-mail are listed above.

Grade Assignment
Grades will be based on an absolute
scale. Note that a GPA of at least 3.000 is required to remain active in the
graduate program.

There
are 15 weeks in the semester. Week
1 counts double as 2 lab preps will be completed. There is no lab prep week 3,
as it falls on the Labor Day Holiday.
