Employee of the Month
April, 1997

Chris Silburn, of the North Campus library staff, is Employee of the Month for April.

Mr. Silburn is Supervisor of the NC Library Instruction Laboratory and of the audiovisual services based there. He has served in that capacity since July, 1995. He joined our USPS staff in December, 1994 as Stack Supervisor.

Chris is now in charge of the circulating AV collection, classroom display of materials, and laboratory services which, in addition to library instruction, provide for WWW access, LEXIS/NEXIS, and word processing. It takes a service-oriented individual to help library users take advantage of the wide range of technology available. Chris's knowledge and friendly demeanor are valuable resources for both patrons and staff.

According to his supervisor, "Christopher's work is of the highest quality. His work in the lab has required him to learn a variety of software packages, and to acquire a substantial level of hardware and networking expertise. He constantly seeks new opportunities to learn."

Christopher serves the University Community well as an especially valued member of the North Campus Reader Services staff, and we are very pleased to recognize his fine work by designating him Employee of the Month for April.
