Employee of the Month April 1998

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our Employee of the Month for April is Maria Bello, Senior Library Technical Assistant in Collection Management at University Park.

Maria joined us as a member of the Cataloging Staff in 1992, first in Record Creation and currently in Monographic Cataloging. She is responsible for cataloging and processing library materials and has proven to be especially competent in the area of copy cataloging.

Over the past several years, Maria has demonstrated her desire to learn more, to seek out new challenges and experiment with new ways of doing things. She has shown a natural aptitude for working with computers and has become a "power user" and resource person within the department. Current duties include sending large batch files to OCLC for updating.

Her computer abilities and pleasant, even-tempered personality have made her an invaluable resource for all members of the Cataloging Staff. Her facility with personal computers has helped the department to incorporate new technologies into work flows in the interest of making the department more efficient.

I know you will join me in congratulating Maria on this recognition of her outstanding work.
