Employee of the Month August 2003

It is a pleasure to recognize as employee of the month Johnnie Wright who has served FIU in the University Libraries as a member of the USPS staff since 1973. Throughout her career with us, she has been in charge of the binding operation including shiipments to the library binder, temporary binding, replacing missing pages, and related work. She is being recognized as Employee of the Month for the second time.

For the past thirty years, her area has contined to operate smoothly thanks to her quiet dedication and the precision of her work. A supervisor has described her efforts as "consistent and accurate," her output "prodigious," and has cited her willingness to help when and where needed. Her contribution helps to insure that journals are preserved and available for library users, and that new books get to the shelf as quickly as possible.
