Employee of the Month December 2000

As you may know, Martha Perez, Senior Library Technical Assistant in the Catalog Department, is our Employee of the Month for December. It is a pleasure to recognize the work of another veteran in Collection Management, someone who has been with us as a member of the USPS staff since 1981.

Like a number of others on our staff, she joined us as an OPS worker in 1979 before transferring to a regular library position. Since 1985, in addition to processing books, she has been working with a wide variety of special materials. In 1992, she became part of the Special Materials Cataloging and Processing Section dealing with films, videorecordings, sound recordings, music scores, curriculum materials, and computer files in addition to books.

According to her supervisor, "Over the past several years, Martha has demonstrated her desire to learn more, to seek out new challenges and to experiment with new ways of doing things. She has always demonstrated initiative in handling her regular work and special assignments."
