It gives me great pleasure to announce that Alma Sobrino is Employee of the Month for December.

Ms. Sobrino has been with FIU since April, 1973. We all know her as someone who is quiet, efficient, and dedicated, one who works well with others. She is perhaps best known for the extensive knowledge she has accumulated over the years concerning all the elements that make for precision in the construction of bibliographic records. In this regard, she worked extensively on the aspect of the comprehensive inventory dealing with correction of bibliographic entries for items inventoried.

Ms. Sobrino has elicited the admiration of many of us in the library for the manner in which she quietly goes about doing an excellent job in helping to make our on­line catalog a correct and accurate reflection of library collections. She continues to be one of the mainstays of the Catalog Department.
