Our Employee of the Month for January is Alicia Padilla, a member of the library staff since July, 1977.

Alicia joined us on the above date as an OPS worker and was raised to USPS level in May, 1978. She has continuously worked in Acquisitions at University Park for the last nineteen years. At the present time, she is responsible for processing orders for both campuses.

Two of her chief virtues are a willingness to take on new tasks, and to bring to her work a positive service attitude in relation to the many who depend on the services of the Acquisitions Department. In the years of lean materials budget, Alicia volunteered to work in the Audiovisual Library, a contribution of the time that was greatly appreciated by the AV Library staff.

In the words of one of her supervisors, "One of Alicia's real pluses is the readiness with which she helps others, also her friendly attitude in relation to all who come in contact with her."

It is a pleasure to designate her our current Employee of the Month.
