Employee of the Month
January 2002

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Sandra Kwavnick is our Employee of the Month for January. As many of you may not be aware, Sandra coordinates library services to our students in Broward County.

Her responsibilities include library instruction, acquisitions, intercampus and interlibrary loan, reserves and coordination of all services with those of Broward County Library and with the BCCC joint use library

According to her supervisor, Toni Downs, "Althought her schedule is for twenty hours per week, Sandra can be found working day and night, including weekends, as she seeks to minimize and solve problems encountered by FIU students and faculty. She has excellent relations with faculty and students. On six weeks' notice, she coordinated the shift of library support from the Broward Tower to Pines Center in Pembroke Pines without dislocation of services."

Sandra holds the BA in Library Studies from Concordia University in Montreal, and has worked in McGill University Library, at Concordia, as well as in Nova University Law Library.
