It is a pleasure to be able to announce that our Employee of the Month for January is Marcy Bonanno, Senior Library Technical Assistant and Supervisor of the Serials Section, University Park.

Marcy joined the staff of UP Library in 1977. Since that time she has worked extensively in serials, cataloging, and also served for a time in reference. She is best known to most of us as one who has mastered broad segments of technical services work and developed comprehensive knowledge of routines, procedures, and operations in a number of areas. Her expertise is a major library resource. We all know that she cares deeply that the job is done and done right.

Marcy Bonanno's most recent challenge was immediate supervision of UP Serials Department during the transition from the Faxon SC­10 check­in system to Notis, and in periodical vendors from Faxon to Ebsco. Her work during this period was indispensable to the FIU Libraries.

Marcy Bonanno's years of effort in behalf of University Park Library have amounted to a contribution of substance to the library's growth and development. I know you will join me in saluting her as January's Employee of the Month.
