Employee of the Month July 2001

Our employee of the month for July is Lori Driver, Senior Library Technical Assistant, Government Documents Department, Green Library. Although she joined us as recently as August 1 of last year, she comes to us with extensive library experience. She began as a page in Coral Reef Library of the Miami Dade Public Library System in 1988, but was soon promoted to Library Assistant I in the Reference Department of the West Kendall Regional Library where she was responsible for maintaining some five hundred subscriptions and working at service desks.

Currently, she has responsibility for supervising eight to ten OPS workers, for processing part of the Federal documents collection. and for the binding of serials. Recently, she assumed responsibility for design and maintenance of one section of the Everglades Digital Library. Subsequently, her Everglades web work was showcased by Dr. Peter Machonis at a conference he was attending.

According to her supervisor, Lori has made a real difference in the Documents Department. Not the least of her virtues is a "can do" attitude.
