Employee of the Month July 1998

Our employee of the month is Carmen Perez who has been with the University since 1973, having joined FIU as keypunch operater/word processor the year after the University opened. Two years later, she joined the staff of the University Libraries as a technician in Special Collections and has remained with SPC since that time.

Her special interest has always been the University Archives. She has worked with collecting a broad range of materials relating to the University's growth and development. Carmen is part of the living history of FIU and has been an asset to all those working on the Silver Anniversary. Recognition has included a certificate of thanks from Founding President Charles Perry. Her work on the index to Theses and Dissertations at FIU is a valuable source for all those selecting dissertation topics and desiring access to the dissertations.
