Our Employee of the Month for June is Gaile May. Gaile is fairly new to the staff, having taken up her duties as SeniorLibrary Technical Assistant in the Reader Services Department last September. However, as with many of our USPS staff, she began as an OPS worker and has served in that department since March, 1991.
According to her supervisor, Scott Kass "Gaile's work is of the highest quality. Her work with the microform reader/printers greatly improves the usefulness of holdings in the microform. She constantly seeks new opportunities to learn and new responsibilities. She can be depended upon to anticipate problems, alert supervisors to them, and make recommendations for solving them."
Currently as a senior at FIU, Gaile is interested in getting a Master's in Library Science when she completes her undergraduate degree in Sociology. She enjoys working with the public, helping patrons do research, as well as trouble shooting in microforms.
It is a pleasure to see new people like Gaile May joining the staff and to recognize her as our Employee of the Month.
