Employee of the Month
June 1995

It is my pleasure to announce that Nora Ferrer is Employee of the Month for June.

Nora has worked at University Park for twentytwo years. She began in Cataloging in March, 1973 as a student assistant and in October, 1974 as a fulltime member of the library staff. She is now doing secondlevel and copy cataloging as well as assisting with special projects.

Ms. Ferrer is extremely competent and is frequently given the most difficult work. She has demonstrated versatility, willingness to take on new responsibilities, intellectual curiosity, and creative use of technology. She has good interpersonal skills, maintains a good sense of humor and possesses a cooperative spirit.

Last summer she completed a special project, the processing of a collection of materials in Spanish and Portuguese. She then took on another special project to perform advanced copy cataloging on a backlog of books for International Documents. When we were inundated with approval books last fall, she volunteered to assist in the Record Creation Unit. Recently, she set a new record for cataloging statistics, in March, having completed 533 new titles, 115 of which required complex editing and authority work.

She holds the B.A. in Hospitality Management, but we hope she will be with the library for a long time to come.
