Employee of the Month June 1998

This is to announce that our employee of the month for June is Juan Rosario, Computer Support Specialist, North Campus Library.

Juan joined the staff in August, 1995 as Stack Maintenance Supervisor. He excelled in this, one of the most demanding library positions available. He was then promoted to Library Technical Assistant Supervisor at the Circulation Desk where his calm, smiling demeanor made him a natural for handling the day to day tribulations of the front desk. With the encouragement of some of his NC colleagues, Juan has committed himself to earning an MLS and on his own started exploring the world of computer hardware and software. He gained sufficient proficiency that he was reclassified as Computer Support Specialist, a function he now fulfills in support of operations throughout North Campus Library. He is currently finishing up his courses to receive Microsoft Systems Engineering certification.

A well-kept secret is that Juan is more familiarly known as Manny and that he is an avid baseball fan and player, having played in the minor leagues. He is enthusiastic, service-oriented, and an asset to the library and to the University.

It is a real pleasure to recognize Juan Rosario as Employee of the Month.
