It gives me great pleasure to announce that Ms. Ivy Torres is our Employee of the Month for November. Ms. Torres is Senior Library Technical Assistant in Acquisitions at the North Campus Library. She has been with us since February of last year. Her major functions include receiving and processing gift books, preorder searching, and record creation in NOTIS.
In this brief period of time, Ms. Torres has not only mastered her work with systems of some complexity, she has also updated procedure manuals for her area and has been effective in training student assistants to work in this automated environment.
In addition to her directly workrelated activity, Ms. Torres has contributed to the NMC Library Staff Association which she currently serves as President. She wasresponsible for organizing the 1993 NMC Library Holiday Party.
According to her department head, Nancy Hershoff, "Ms. Torres is the epitome of reliability and courtesy and is a tremendous asset to the Libraries."
I know you will all join me in extending to her congratulations on this recognition for her efforts in behalf of the University Community and the Libraries.
