Ricardo Jimenez is our current Employee of the Month. He joined the University Park Library as Night Supervisor in October, 1993, graduating to Intercampus Loan Supervisor in January of this year as a full-time regular member of the staff. For three months, he performed both capacities. Last fall, when staffing was particularly tight, his attendance was perfect.
Ricardo has devoted a great deal of time and energy to the improvement of ICL operation. With his assistant, he processes close to 800 requests per month. He works closely with North Campus in his work. This is an especially complex and demanding job since the service can fall down at any one of a number of points: checking holdings, retrieval from shelves, dispatching the material to the other campus, and communication with the recipient. Maintaining dependable intercammpus loan service with a normal turnaround time of two working days or less is an ongoing challenge which Ricardo has met in an extremely conscientious manner.
It is great to have on our staff people like Ricardo who go the extra mile to provide good library service to the University Community.
