Employee of the Month October 1997

I am pleased to honor once again Miriam John, Office Assistant in the North Campus Library Administrative Office. This award specially recognizes her work in support of our recent massive search and screen effort, including coordinating the documentation of over four hundred applications for six positions. She played a key role in making this entire process go smoothly.

You are all aware of her fine work in the UP Administrative Office, and as Head of North Campus Interlibrary and Intercampus Loan Unit. Actually, her service with the University Libraries began in 1984.

In my last recognition of her work, I paid tribute to her acute attention to detail, quiet resourcefulness, close cooperation with other staff and students, adaptability, and dependability. It is a pleasure to do so again. Those of us who have had the privilege of working closely with her have reason to admire her graciousness and steadiness when the environment gets hectic.

Iam sure you will join me in welcoming her into the ranks of those who have been recognized twice for distinguished service.
