Employee of the Month
October 1998

It gives me great pleasure to announce that Ivy Torres is our Employee of the Month for October. She is Library Technical Assistant Supervisor in the Acquisitions Section of the Bibliographic Control Department and merits this award for the second time during her tenure at FIU.

Ivy is best known to most of us as one who goes the extra mile to do her job well and to participate in library-wide activities. She has been active in planning staff development programs, is current President of the North Campus Staff Association, and may always be counted on when it comes to planning library book sales or student assistant appreciation parties.

On the job, she is always willing to try new ways of approaching her work, to overcome obstacles and get the job done. She does this, according to her supervisor, with grace and diplomacy. Her adherence to high standards and her general dedication have earned her respect from colleagues both at North Campus and at University Park.

Congratulations, Ivy!
